Some 29 per cent of motorists say they have reduced the number of long-distance journeys they have made in the past 12 months as a result of soaring fuel prices, according to an RAC poll.

David Bizley, RAC technical director, said: “The soaring cost of fuel and the impact it is having on ordinary families is unsustainable.”
